What Do We Mean By Testing Applied?
Testing Applied goes back to the core of testing: Defining your Mission and Strategising in function of that mission.
In this tutorial, we offer effective and immediately applicable tactics to test in function of threats that impact the important quality aspects. We want to make our strategy visible, approachable and open to the team. From that starting point we kickstart our sprint, testing directly that which matters with a plan that supports it.
Why You Should Take This Course
Testers face many problems in their day-to-day job. Most of these stem from misunderstanding of their craft by their team members, management and often… themselves.
In our rapidly changing complex craft, where every project is different but tries to adhere to the same standards, it’s general confusion that impacts us the most. Individuals and interactions above processes and tools. How easily we forget the first agile value. With Testing Applied, we put communication and teamwork back into the center of our work. This course helps you, the tester, to become more ingrained in the planning process and to engage your team members to create the most effective Test Strategy for your context.
What You Will Learn On This Course
Strategising With Riskstorming
RiskStorming brings your team members together to brainstorm, yes, in function of risks. It focuses the team on the things that matter and that which impacts those important aspects. With the aid of the TestSphere cards, it creates a visual and collaborative mapping game that eventually results in a Test Strategy which is decided upon by the complete team.
Converting Your Strategy To Test Charters
As an example of how to put your strategy to practise, we translate our targets into Test Charters which contain clear goals. Our aim is to divide our strategy into clear learning goals to constantly improve the way we gather information and deploy our tactics.
Effective Reporting In Conjunction To Your Strategy
Eventually, we want to clearly communicate our results so that makes sense to our stakeholders. Therefore we report in function of our predefined strategy and come full circle.
- You will work as a team using RiskStorming to discuss and describe a strategy to tackle a real life case and additional problem;
- You will achieve your strategy by using Session Based Testing & Debriefing;
- You will use TestSphere as a tool to uncover unknown-unknowns and strengthen your strategy;
- You will visually outline your results as a final report to compliment your strategy.
What You Will Need To Bring
An impromptu session needs: A mobile device: smartphone, tablet or laptop.
An in house session needs: Means of interacting with your application.
